Classic Bruschetta
A classic Italian appetizer that's simple to make and always impressive. The key is using ripe, flavorful tomatoes and good quality olive oil.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 baguette, sliced
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Balsamic vinegar (optional)
Instructions
Section titled “Instructions”-
Dice the tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Add the minced garlic and chopped basil.

Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and mix well. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/2-inch thick slices.

Toast the bread slices in the oven or on a grill until golden brown.

Rub each toasted slice with a cut garlic clove for extra flavor.

Top each slice with the tomato mixture. Drizzle with a bit more olive oil and balsamic vinegar if desired.
